DCFMC Clubs

Year after year through its local member clubs, the District of Columbia Federation of Music Clubs (DCFMC) keeps alive the joy of music for future generations by encouraging and supporting students, emerging professionals, and young composers through the recognition of competitions, concerts, and awards. Membership offers important benefits for students, their teachers, and music lovers of all persuasions.

Club Membership

According to the DCFMC bylaws, membership is by club or individual. Club membership is for organizations which promote music through performance or study. There are three categories of clubs: Senior Clubs, Student Clubs, and Junior Clubs.

Junior Clubs are limited to organizations whose members are not over 18 years of age. Student Clubs are limited to organizations whose members are from 16 to 25 years of age. Senior Clubs are for those above 25 years of age. By-laws require that the DCFMC have at least three active senior clubs. Requirements include a president, board of directors and membership of people over 25 interested in furthering the musical life of the community.
